We were out of coffee this morning, and I simply can’t do life without it (judge if you must😋). So I ran to the store near our house to grab some Folgers. PS I’m sure I was killin it in my mismatched PJ’s, but a girls gotta do what a girl’s gotta do🤷🏼‍♀️.

Anyways, as I was browsing through the aisles looking for all the things I don’t need, I noticed an elderly man who had been staring at the large selection of phone chargers for some time. As I made my way closer, I saw the young cashier stop what she was doing and walk over to ask if he needed any help. This isn’t something insanely profound or out of the ordinary, I know. But this girl wasn’t just asking out of habit or duty… she was sincere and attentive.

As I made my way to the counter—without any unnecessary purchases might I add 😇— I heard him explaining that he couldn’t find a charger to fit his phone and he wasn’t really sure what kind he needed. This employee began going through every single charger cord with him, trying each one in his phone until they found the right fit. I was waiting at the register by this point, and I would’ve seriously waited however long it took for them to find this sweet old man his charger.

I realize that other customers passing probably didn’t even notice, but I just couldn’t help standing there in awe at the level of care and patience this girl was showing.. just to make life a little easier for a fellow human. It just really made me reflect on the gratitude I have for good people. Despite all the negativity and controversy going on in the world, acts of purity and kindness really do exist. Sometimes we just have to remind ourselves to stop and appreciate them… no matter how small they may seem.
